Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett is an Canadian actress who is best known for appearing in films such as "Apartment Hunting,  Men with Brooms The Tree of Life.' She was born and raised in Spalding Saskatchewan. After high school she moved to Alberta. Acting was something she learned about during her teens. To receive further training in acting, she attended the 'National Theatre School,' in Montreal and later went to the  Moscow Theatre School.' Her first appearance on television came in the year 1996 as a support part in the Canadian series titled 'The Rez.' She also appeared in shows like Ready or Not' and Forever Knight' that year. In the late 1990s when she made her film debut with the film titled "Papertrail" and then acted in films like "Men with Brooms" and "Cypher." She also appeared in the supporting roles in shows like 'A Nero Wolfe Mystery,' and Blue Murder. Even though she was still acting in films throughout the decade of 2000 and beyond, her appearances on screen were less than her television appearances. She was also the lead actress in the 1998 Canadian drama series called 'Power Play. The show ran for two seasons and had 26 episodes. It received praise from critics and the public at large. In recognition of her role in the series she was nominated for a Gemini Award. Jude Lyon Matchett was her first child. She didn't disclose the name or father of her son. According to some sources, her ex-boyfriend is father to her son. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke met Kari Matchett in the mid-1990s. They began to date and got married in 1998. The couple divorced in 2006 following their marriage was broken up.
