Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker (born August 2 1964) is an American actress. Following her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she won an Tony Award nomination), Parker gained notoriety for film roles in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) and The Maker (1997). Parker was awarded the 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress in an independent film for her role in David Auburn's Proof of Catherine Llewellyn. Between 2001 and 2006, she appeared in the role of Amy Gardner in the NBC TV series The West Wing, for which she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series in 2002. For her performance in the role of Harper Pitt in the HBO miniseries Angels in America, she won an Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She also received an award for her performance in the series, a Primetime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama. In 2007, Parker was nominated for three times for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actress in Comedy Series. She also received the Golden Globe Award in 2006 for Best Actress in Red (2010) and Red. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). Parker was back on Broadway in the year 2019, and was a part of The Sound Inside. This production won her her second Tony Award for Best Actress. Since 2007, Parker has contributed articles to Esquire magazine and published her memoir Dear Mr. You, in 2015. The show was a starring role for Roma Guy in the ABC miniseries "When We Rise" in 2017. She worked as a political advisor on the Showtime show Billions in 2018.
