Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. She began her career as a professional at age four by performing voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. Then she moved to The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" as a child found in the park and cared for by Josie and Gary. Sarah would be working with Amy Carlson ("Josie") at least a couple of times more: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected as one of the younger "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) in the same year that she was also cast in the role of "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) with Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. She also appeared in Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah was a vocalist, jazz, hip hop, tap, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her Theatre and tap classes at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. Sarah was home-schooled by her mom until 2nd grade and then attended Public School. She was admitted in the 6th grade to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in 2008. Sarah, who was now 18 years old, moved to Los Angeles, CA, in which she was able to land as a pilot under the name "My American Family". The name was changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was selected). Sarah is currently "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest of the Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
