Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara, Spanish was born on July 10, 1972. She is an actress presenter, producer, model, and television presenter from Colombia. Vergara was the highest-paid actor on American television between 2013 until 2020. Vergara rose in prominence as host of two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the latter part of the 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first big acting performance in English. The following year, she appeared in Four Brothers (2005) and Tyler Perry's comedy films Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009), receiving an ALMA Award nomination for the last. She first made her mark with ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. For her role, she was honored with four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. She also had voice-over roles in animated films Happy Feet Two (2011), Escape from Planet Earth (2013) as well as The Emoji Movie (2017). The five siblings of her and many of her friends have referred to her as "Toti". Vergara was originally a student at the National University of Colombia in dentistry. She left after two semesters to pursue modeling and show business.
