Milena Govich
Milena Govich is a director, actor, and
musician who has directed many episodes of TV that include The Equalizer
(2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012) among
others. Additionally, she was the Co-EP/Producing director on Dick Wolf's CBS
series FBI (2018). She is currently attached to two pilots in development.
Milena was among eight women who were selected by AFI's most prestigious
Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures
Television Diverse Directors program. Her short film and TV show
proof-of-concept titled Unspeakable featuring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober,
was screened at its World Premiere at SXSW and won the Best Episodic Award at
Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film
Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017 produced by
Milena Vandervoort) has been screened across the nation. It was awarded the
Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta
ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena has appeared for more than 100 television
series. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then
as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her first appearance on CBS. Then she became
the only female detective on Law & Order (1990). She has been featured
or reprised on a variety of other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The
Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family); and as Lori
Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena also appeared in several
films like Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve
Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She has also
appeared on stage with Method Man. Milena is a Norman, Oklahoma native. After
being valedictorian of her high school and then going further to get an
undergraduate degree in both singing and premed, along with minors in violin
and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma. She used her classical ballet
education shortly thereafter to stage her Broadway debut in the Rob
Marshall/Sam Mendes production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
