Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York eateries, been studying Italian food, its culture and traditions as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up within New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful adventure. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. In Italy she gained a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This will have a significant impact on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. as a speaker, guest and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's a pleasure to be able to share this passion for life with others.
